MLM Leads: How to Approach Friends and Family

MLM LeadsWhen you first begin trying to generate MLM leads, it is often suggested that you put together a list of all of your friends and family members. This becomes your warm list – people that you are already connected to that might be interested in joining in on your MLM efforts. But just because you already know these people doesn’t mean that they are going to instantly jump on board with your company and want to join in. Approaching them takes a little finesse and tact.

No one ever likes to feel pressured into things, and most people don’t like to feel like someone is actively trying to sell them anything. So rather than sitting down at the next family reunion trying to convince every one of your relatives to sell products or services for you, try approaching things differently. Look for natural opportunities to bring up the products or services that you sell in conversation. Don’t try to “sell” anyone anything, but instead simply mention that you use a certain product or service that you are very happy with. Wait for the other people in the conversation to ask you for more information, like how you heard about the products, what you like about the products or where you purchased the products. This lets you know that they are interested in learning more. The door is now open for you to give them the information they seek.

Once that door is open, you will be able to let the products or services speak for themselves. Help your family and friends fall in love with the products and services you offer the same way you did when you first tried them. If they love them as much as you did, the next step is to inform them of how they can help get these products out to other consumers, just like you do.

By taking this approach, you won’t be labeled as someone who is pushy or rude. You will be able to present opportunities that are legitimate and credible without meeting instant rejection head-on.

  1. Brian, Thank You for your info. I have been with Vollara for almost a year and still have not sold anything. I’ve tried many methods but still nothing. I know the products are great but still nothing. Will keep trying.

    Thank You

    1. Hi Chuck:

I read your post from 11/8 and it sounded so familiar! I can’t break through my fear…of both failure and success…to step forward with consistent action. I think a bit of early success would have helped me gain some momentum. I am trying to listen to personal development info and stay plugged in. Hopefully, some of the new training and business options will help many of us move forward. A home business trainer online says that you don’t have to get right just get it going. Small steps forward and unstoppable confidence is the key…let’s keep on keeping on as the saying goes. Good luck! Mary B.

  2. Hey Chuck! 12//18/2011

Saw your e-mail and I want to let you know you are not alone. I, also have been with Vollara for a year and haven’t sold anything. In the beginning, I think I blew everyone off with the excitement of our wonderful products as well as the business opertunity. After about 20 people and no sales, I think I freaked. So much in fact that I was scared to talk to anyone in fear of losing what few contacts I had left.
I started off with ths fast start essentials pack on a 4pay so I,ve used that as an excuse to freeze. Not go forward until I straightened out my finances thus allowing me to afford the pro system.
Here I am a year later in the same spot I was in a year ago. I’ll never make the journey without stepping forward again. Onle recently have I started planting seeds again.
I’ve tried a lot of sales but have never found such superior products; not only that, I personally found such an organized, supportive, caring company as Vollara. My decision is; I found something I can not only believe in, but here is an oppertunity to help our planet, help others find a life they could only dream of before.
I choose to WIN. I sincerely hope you do too.

    Your Friend,

    Jim Tonkin

  3. I am a proud owner of the air purifier for over 6 years before the Vollara name. This year 2012 will begin a journey of soon to be closed deals. Looking forward to the future.

  4. To all the comments so far. I’ve been with Vollara since it’s beginning and I’ve had good years and bad years in retail sales. I have just started to build a business and tried the various indirect methods to market the product. These last two years have been rough. I used to just retail the products to my HVAC customers in my previous contracting business. Just make up your mind the products are needed you just need to find the people looking for you.

  5. I just got started I have alots of hits to my site and I have one person who did application who I will be calling. You just have to keep advertising I use Craigslist,Backpage,Safelist, etc You have to just advertise in different places to drive traffic to your site. Chuck I hope you can stay in and do because I know you can.
